I read a topic earlier about pubs on new hall lane

But what about whats new on new hall lane

Did anyone notice that the old preston farmers mill has been turned into luxury apartments. But now half of it must have been bought out because there is a bg banner anouncing a new Travelodge coming soon.

Who would have thought in such a run down area of preston. Is this an sign of new development in the area.
I like mine with a kiss

I think I would have preferred more housing on the site, possibly a split between social housing and private, but thats by the bye.

Hotel clients are mostly car drivers like business people, sales reps etc. Putting a hotel on a out of town brown site (whats the phrase for for new development on old, already built on land?) , would make more sense to me, as most clients will be able to drive them extra few minutes to arrive. The site you mention Shyco is very close to the town centre and would be better suited for housing IMO, which would benefit the local businesses.

I see much housing develepment on the outskirts of towns, huge estates with zero or little emeneties provided. All residents in these characterless new lego land type housing will have to get their motor out of their garage for a simple trip to the shop. Give me High street living any day, unless I'm in a cottage in the sticks. laugh.gif
